"Radiothon week” is a special time for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region, Inc.  We have a number of past guests who have been a big part of this event since we first took to the air 12 years ago.  They love to volunteer and share what the House has meant to them.  The DJ’s from Albany Broadcasting love it when our kids tell their stories and they make them feel like the heroes they truly are. For many of these heroes, the Radiothon is anticipated nearly as much as a birthday or the Holiday Season.

 Perhaps over the past 12 years you were inspired to pick up the phone and make a donation after hearing a child tell their Ronald McDonald House story in their own words.  Perhaps your own family or a close friend has utilized our Ronald McDonald House or Ronald McDonald Family Room located in the Children’s Hospital and you chose to make a donation as a way to give back. Whatever the reason you gave, your investment in our charity helped keep our doors open to families in need throughout the year.

We need your help more now than ever! 

This year’s event has added significance as 100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit our much needed expansion project titled “More Room for Love.”   This campaign will purchase and renovate the property located adjacent to our Ronald McDonald House and will provide an additional 10 bedrooms to ease our growing waiting list, support 300+ families per year and save families over $950,000 in hotel, food, travel and medical costs each year.  This project will cost an estimated $2,000,000.  To date, we have purchased the property adjacent to our current House and have secured over $750,000 in support.  We are well on our way to ensure we never again turn away a family in need due to a lack of available bedrooms.
